• In mammals a major physiological role of the GHSR gene

  2022-04-08

In mammals, a major physiological role of the GHSR gene appears to be in regulating food intake and energy homeostasis by partaking in the neuronal mechanisms involving neuropeptide Y and agouti-related protein (Nakazato et al., 2001, Chen et al., 2017). In our study, determination of the abundance

Materials and Methods Results Discussion In the present study, we investigated the postnatal expression of the two GABA receptor subunits, GABAAα1 and GABAB1, in order to determine the differential expression and regional distribution pattern of them between right and left hippocampi in the

Recently, accumulated evidence has revealed a close link of FXR to gluconeogenesis. For example, activation of FXR by its agonist GW4064 improved hyperglycemia in db/db mice by repressing gluconeogenesis [15], and FXR agonist CDCA decreased transactivation activity of key gluconeogenic genes by indu

Earlier we have showed that tumor associated sFas mRNA isoform profile and splicing factors expression levels in solid tumors do not correspond to profiles that are observed in cell lines [45]. In the present study, for the first time we show that Fas but not Rac1 pre-mRNA's alternative splicing is

Retrieval requires histamine H1 receptors in dorsal hippocampus Retrieval is a dynamic process that requires neurotransmitter regulation (Barros et al., 2000, Barros et al., 2001). Recently, histamine, and histaminergic transmission has entered the list of putative neurotransmitter modulators of

  2022-04-07

Aurora kinase B (AURKB) and haploid cell-specific protein kinase (Haspin) are two well-known participants in N-terminal histone H3 phosphorylations during mitosis. A related role played by these kinases relates to the fact that AURKB is activated by Haspin promoted phosphorylation at T3. Irrespectiv

It is known that changes in cGMP levels are positively correlated with plant adaptation to environmental stresses. It seems that a novel group of moonlighting kinases with GC activity is particularly involved in response to biotic stress. It was shown that danger-associated molecular pattern (DAMPs)

Similar to Rac1, Cdc42, and RhoA, expression of Rnd3 is also increased under hypoxic conditions, involving Hif1α mediated transcriptional activity. Here, downregulation of Rnd3 abolishes hypoxia-induced cell migration via a mechanism involving the chemokine receptor C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 4

  2022-04-06

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder and characterized by the presence of abnormal filamentous protein inclusions in nerve cells of the brain [2]. The neuropathological hallmarks of AD were first reported by Alois Alzheimer and date back to 1907 [3], [4]. These inclusions are for

While the specific set of challenges associated with deorphanization and transforming each poorly characterized GPCR into a useful drug target will be unique, much can be learned by considering how these issues have been addressed for other receptors. Concluding Remarks Given the increasing global incidence of metabolic disorders, new drugs that lower body weight and improve glucose tolerance are desperately needed. While we still have a long way to go, GPR55 might be an interesting target to explore, given its expression in numerous metabolic

  2022-04-06

Introduction Adipose tissue (AT), in addition to its function as Estradiol Benzoate storage, is an important endocrine organ and it secretes adipokines (Ahima, 2006). Adipose tissue is related to different physiological processes such as energy metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and inflammation.

  2022-04-06

In addition to the role of TGR5, the FXR-FGF15/19 axis has been implicated in other aspects of glucose metabolism and metabolic disorders. In humans, both obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are associated with lower plasma FGF19 levels [67,68]. A derivative of the naturally occurring FXR ag

Originally identified as a GPCR upregulated on Burkitt lymphoma cells upon Epstein-Barr virus infection (Birkenbach et al., 1993), Ebi2 was later found to play critical roles in immunity by regulating the migration of activated concentration equation to extrafollicular sites for early plasmablast r
